Message from Minister Jacek Czaputowicz to participants of the fifth edition of the Krzyżowa-Music Chamber Music Festival
Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is a great pleasure for me to take over the patronage of the fifth edition of the Krzyżowa-Music Chamber Music Festival together with my German counterpart, Minister Heiko Maas. This year's edition is exceptional as it coincides with the thirtieth anniversary of the historic Reconciliation Mass, which constitutes the symbolic foundation of the new relationship between Germany and Poland.
German-Polish reconciliation is one of the most necessary and successful political projects in Europe after 1945. Despite the differences or disputes, intensive cooperation between our two countries remains an undeniable fact. It covers - practically speaking - all areas of political, cultural, economic and social life. The relations between the Poles and the Germans are not only cultivated by politicians, but also by thousands of citizens within social organizations, associations, schools, universities as well as city and regional partnerships.
The Krzyżowa-Music Festival is one of such initiatives. With its range and prestige, it reaches beyond the borders of our countries and brings together world-famous musicians and young music talents from different parts of the world.
Bearing in mind the success of the four previous editions of this event, I hope that Krzyżowa-Music will keep on inspiring not only the development of good neighbourly relations between Germany and Poland, but also cooperation and international dialogue in a broader sense, especially in the European context.
I am full of appreciation for the organizers of the festival and I wish you many unforgettable encounters with timeless art at the highest level.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland
